Change Instagram Profile Type

Instagram offers three profile types: Personal, Business, and Creator. All accounts start as Personal by default, but you can switch to a Business or Creator profile anytime.

Only Business and Creator profiles can be connected to Statusbrew. All Instagram functionality in Statusbrew is only available for Business profiles.

To access all of Statusbrew’s Instagram features, Meta requires your Business profile to be connected to a Facebook Page. You don’t need to post to the Facebook Page, but the permissions to manage your Instagram profile are granted through Facebook.

Open your Instagram account and go to Settings. Based on your profile type, you’ll see one of these options:

• Personal profiles – “Account types and tools”

• Creator profiles – “Creator tools and controls”

• Business profiles – “Business tools and controls”

Prerequisites To Convert Your Instagram Personal Profile To A Business Profile

To convert your Instagram profile, you need:

• A Facebook Page to connect to your Instagram profile. Only one Instagram profile can be connected to a Page, and vice versa. If you don’t have a Page, refer to Facebook’s article on Create a Facebook Page to create a new one.

• You must have full or partial control of the Page and management access in Business Manager. Refer to Facebook’s article on View your Page access on Facebook and Add people to a business portfolio and assign a business asset.

How To Convert Your Instagram Personal Profile To A Business Profile?

1. In the Instagram mobile app, go to your profile and select the hamburger menu in the top right-hand corner.

2. Tap Account types and tools > Switch to professional account.

3. Select your category.

4. Select Switch to Professional account.

5. Select Creator or Business.

6. Review your account information.

7. Follow Meta's instructions to connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram account.
